Our Architects of Change for Cats National Conference, taking place November 8-10 in Arlington, Va., will be led by national leaders in the movement to make communities safe places for cats. Meet one of those leaders: Mike Arms, animal welfare pioneer and president of Helen Woodward Animal Center.

Since his arrival at Helen Woodward Animal Center in 1999, the shelter has grown dramatically and is now an agent for change for the entire animal welfare world. As a result of his innovation and determination, adoptions have leapt to record levels, the education program has expanded, and the therapeutic programs now reach tens of thousands of people each year. Mike and his team lead workshops around the world to teach shelter professionals and others how to adopt effective and humane practices to save more lives.

We’re thrilled that Mike will bring his expertise and experience to our conference to inspire positive change in even more communities and shelters.
