We are so excited to be returning to Gainesville next week to provide educational support and resources for the city’s burgeoning community cat programs. For weeks, we have been collaborating with local organizations and policymakers to make Gainesville a model city for cat protection.

Trap-Neuter-Return Workshop

Our first event in Gainesville will be a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) workshop at the Gainesville Civic Center on May 11. We’ll meet with residents, policymakers, and animal control officers and help them get to know the new programs for cats in Gainesville. Getting more residents and community members involved is key, so we’ll be showing them how they can help cats through TNR instruction and basic community cat care. We’re thrilled that the mayor of Gainesville, Mr. Jim Goldsworthy, will be joining us, too!

Spay Day and Rabies Clinic

Then on May 13, we’re getting our hands dirty (in a good way!) We’ll be funding and supporting a Spay Day run Texas Coalition for Animal Protection (TCAP) and held at Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter, providing free spay and neuter services to both owned and unowned cats in Gainesville. That same day there will be a free walk-in rabies clinic for cats and dogs. This is just one more way we’re ensuring the health and well-being of cats in Gainesville.

We’re looking forward to seeing the amazing progress and benefits of Gainesville’s new community cat programs. With more cats spayed and neutered and vaccinated, Gainesville is quickly becoming a feline-friendly city we can all be proud of.
