You did it, Lake County! On June 9, the Lake County Commission unanimously approved an ordinance officially allowing residents and officials to carry out Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) for community cats. By approving this lifesaving ordinance, Lake County joins hundreds of other communities that have already embraced TNR.

This ordinance will encourage partnerships between local groups and animal control to work together for both cats and residents. Thanks to everyone in Lake County who reached out to their local officials and spoke up on behalf of the cats and TNR. By giving policymakers the facts and voicing your support for humane programs, the Lake County Commission was able to make an informed decision in favor of TNR.
