Last spring Alley Cat Allies rallied local and national support and offered a reward to find the person responsible for killing 10 cats and 11 other animals in South Bend, Indiana, including a pet cat named Tiger. We are pleased to announce that a man has been charged with 11 counts of felony cruelty in connection with this terrible act. This arrest is a big step for holding animal cruelty offenders accountable!

We are relieved to see justice being pursued in this case. So often, animal cruelty cases never make it to the courts, but Alley Cat Allies worked with South Bend authorities and local group Michiana Feral Cat Initiative to keep this investigation moving forward. We believe that animal cruelty offenders need to be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

Pam Wesolowski, Director of Michiana Feral Cat Initiative told us earlier, “After a certain amount of time, you just figure that one more person got away with it all … thank you for all that you do and for being such great support for animals when a community only has a small group like us to spread the word.”

To everyone who helped in the investigation, followed the case, and supports our work to protect cats: This happened because of you. Thank you!
