We’re proud to say that National Feral Cat Day 2015 was the biggest and best yet! On October 16, Alley Cat Allies mobilized thousands of compassionate people in all 50 states, and 11 different countries, to host over 840 activities to protect and improve the lives of cats.
This year’s activities spanned from spay/neuter clinics to Trap-Neuter-Return workshops, cat food drives, and fundraisers. There were 144 spay/neuter clinics held in honor of National Feral Cat Day this year–making it the most popular activity registered. Thanks to everyone’s efforts, we reached more people and helped more cats than ever! We also got some great media coverage, including this <a href=”http://www.peoplepets.com/2015/10/16/article/its-national-feral-cat-day-meet-three-former-feral-kitties-who-need-homes”>People Pets article</a> about some of our adoptable cats.
Alley Cat Allies’ activities were also a big success. Our <a href=”https://www.alleycat.org/sslpage.aspx?pid=1741"”>Evolution of the Cat Revolution webinar</a> taught a great crowd about National Feral Cat Day, Alley Cat Allies’ 25 years of advocacy, and how everyone can play an important role in the cat protection movement. With help from Frank the Feral, we traveled to Montgomery County, Maryland and the Atlantic City Boardwalk in New Jersey to increase awareness about Trap-Neuter-Return and community cats.
This National Feral Cat Day sent a significant messagepeople want humane policies for cats, and they’re willing to take the initiative to make change happen in their own communities. Together, we’re expanding the cat revolution all around the nation and the world!
