The Maryland Senate is considering a bill that would require any animal taken in by animal control to be carefully inspected for a microchip, tag, or tattoo before the animal is put up for adoption or killed. The bill, HB 46, would also require animal control to make an effort to notify owners of the animals’ location and how to retrieve them.
