The bill that would allow Illinois animal shelters, animal control, and other organizations to access crucial spay/neuter funding is now attached to a new bill! The original bill, HB 4671, did not advance because of strong opposition from anti-cat groups. Illinois, we need your voice to be louder than ever so the new bill, HB 6084 including Senate Amendment 001, passes through the Illinois Senate Agriculture Committee.

The Illinois Public Health and Safety Animal Population Control Program currently subsidizes individuals who carry out spay/neuter efforts for community cats. This new bill would allow shelters, animal control, and animal welfare organizations to also utilize these fundswhich means countless more cats can be spayed/neutered and vaccinated.

Illinois residents: write to your Senators and tell them to support HB 6084, including Senate Amendment 001, and save more cats.

Spay and neuter surgeries save cats’ lives and benefit the community. We can’t let anti-cat groups stop this lifesaving change again! Please take action and tell your legislators to vote yes on the bill.
